In Sheep Show, I became obsessed with Mary, who had a little lamb, and The Boy Who Cried Wolf. These nursery rhymes, and some others, depict children put with the task of caring for helpless sheep. For me, the sheep represent unwanted responsibility, or unplanned pregnancy. The children that are tasked with the care of these wards are too young to bear the burden. I ask the question, if the Boy Who Cried Wolf was too immature to care for his flock, is he complicit in their death by wolf? Are his parents?
